    How to use

    1. Take out the plant tags and seed packets. Pour 200ml of warm water in the centre of the growing tray. The water will flow down to the seed-starting pallets, and in a few minutes the pallets have grown seven times their size!

2.Press half a fingernail deep hole into each pallet. Put one seed in each hole and cover with surrounding soil.
    3. Don’t forget to mark which seeds are in each pallet!

4.Place the tray somewhere warm but not in direct sunlight. Keep the pallets moist but not too wet. After about 10-14 days look out for the seedlings!

5.Choose a sunny spot in the garden to grow your Fruit Salad Garden.

6.Plant the seedlings in the garden when they are about 8cm tall and when any risk of frost has passed. Plant the pallet and all, making sure the pallet is fully covered with soil. Use the tags supplied to identify your plants spacing them 50-75cm apart.

7.Water your plants regularly and feed them with liquid fertiliser every 2 weeks, so they grow strong and healthy.

    8. When the melon plants have 5 or 6 leaves, pinch out their growing tips to encourage the growth of side shoots. Mulch all plants with compost or straw as they grow.
